R&D Strength

The research team of Beihang UAS Company, formerly known as Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Institute of Beihang University, now  has more than 200 full-time researchers and engineers including 2 New Century Excellent Talents and 4 first prize winners of  National Science and Technology Progress Award. In the past five years,  the team has  undertaken many key research projects and made great achievements in applied basic research and engineering application, especially in the fields of  multidisciplinary integrated design, high precision positioning and autonomous navigation, high anti-interference data link, autonomous control and decision-making, reliable motors for advanced actuator, electrical system malfunction diagnosis and prediction.

      A batch of high-level laboratories have been established to develop good conditions for technology research on the advanced UAS technology, including:
        ●The integrated design center for unmanned aircraft with functions of design, calculation and analysis; 
        ●The navigation flight control laboratory with functions of navigation flight control system design, real-time software system development test, ground semi-physical simulation test;
        ●The measurement and control and information transmission laboratory with overall design and engineering realization functions of wireless microwave communication, intelligence information processing, electronic information reconnaissance and confrontation. 
      Following the thought of “one platform, serial development”, the team, who successfully tackled the key technologies for large-scale UAS, has successively developed the high-altitude high-speed reconnaissance UAV “WZ-5” and large-scale long-endurance reconnaissance UAV “BZK-005” in service of Chinese PLA. Its products are characterized by high automation, high stability and high safety, featuring long-endurance, large-load, integrated design and high intelligence, and leading domestically in the design, manufacturing and application of large-scale, high-altitude high-speed and long-endurance UAS.
      The team has achieved remarkable results in UAS technology since 2000, and has won many national awards and honors, mainly including:
